Leesburg, FL — Just a few weeks after the last bikes rumbled away from Daytona Beach’s 70th Annual Bike Week, they’re rumbling into the historic central Florida community of Leesburg for the 15th Annual Leesburg Bikefest. The rally started Thursday April 7, and runs through Sunday, April 10.
Organizers bill the event as “The Most Popular Bike Rally in the U.S.” That may be a slight promotional exaggeration, given the size of the annual rallies in Sturgis and Daytona Beach, but attendance in Leesburg has been growing every year and officials expect up to 300,000 at this year’s event.
Leesburg’s Bikefest has everything you’d expect at a major rally: the vendors, the bands, the bike shows, the contests (tattoo and bikini contests are ever popular!), the food, the beer, and of course the tattooed, leather-clad hordes. Naturally, Leesburg’s main street is closed to all but motorcycle traffic. It’s a big rally, but with a small-town feel. Come on down!
FOR SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Fun! Some of the bikes are so awesome- I’d love to run one!
Cool bikes! And girls? That photo caught me too! haha.
Girls, at a bike event? I hadn’t noticed… ;)
It seems to me one can go from one biker festival to the next all year round in the US. Fabulous. Actually they have a big convention in Marbella/Spain where I am right now in May.
There are a lot of bike festivals here in the US — but it would be exceptionally cool to go to one in Spain!
I wanted to go to see Slaughter and Jackyl, but my car had other ideas. =(
OMG on Ms. Hustler up against the wall. Really?? What was she doing?
She was posing for photographers…. :
Sure, that’s what Jim says — I think he actually was pretending to be a police officer performing a pat-down! :)
