Friday photos: Sunset – Riviera Maya, Mexico at Hacienda Tres Rios

[Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo, Mexico] — It had been raining off and on throughout the day, but right around sunset, a slight break in the clouds permitted the sun to peek through, creating the picture-perfect “golden hour” photographers dream of.

I was with a group of travel writers and photographers in Riviera Maya for SATW’s Freelance Council meeting. On this particular evening, our hosts — Riviera Maya Tourism — took us to Hacienda Tres Rios Resort for a reception and to watch a Maya fire ceremony on the beach.

The sunset, of course, was the “money shot,” but here are a few more from the evening:
